Finding a Doctor.

I have few requirements when it comes to my doctors– they must be a human who is a Black woman. I’m in Atlanta so that shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. So I need a doctor because my body has been tripping lately and I’m an adult, so I should have a PCP. I had insurance with Kaiser from 10 years old until two years ago, so it felt beneath me to have to call around trying to find a doctor. I was shocked to hear that some doctors had a months-long waiting list for an appointment. WHET?  I’m sick today, sis!

Anyway, I stumbled upon a local group of Black doctors, thinking I’d hit the jackpot. Wrong again. I was on the phone for 20 minutes but never talked to a person. So I waited a little while, called back and the same thing happened. I hate that. I hate the Black folks didn’t do me right. I really wanted to give them my business. No worries though, because after a quick Google search, I found a national database of Black doctors and eventually found my Black woman doctor. I called and got an immediate answer and an appointment for tomorrow. Ain’t God gewd?!

I hope I like her though, I don’t have time to look for a doctor all day again.
