Being creative can be a daunting thing. The point of creativity is to get something out of you that’s in you. And a big part of getting it out is sharing it, right? Why would I create this amazing thing and not have the decency to bless lives with it? That wouldn’t be right. Sharing is the scary part though. When we share, we open ourselves up to a lot of things, including rejection. No one likes rejection, it sucks. It’s tantamount to someone saying you’re not good enough or you don’t have what it takes to stand out. Sharing your work is an exercise in fearlessness, it takes heart– but so does creating something in the first place. So yea, it’s OK to be sensitive about your art, but don’t let that stop you from giving it to the world, no matter what they may think. Remember, there’s no one else out there killin’ it like you kill it.
