Houston’s, We Ain’t Got No Problems.

You ever do something you don’t normally do and feel really grown? Bestie and I had a pretty grown day. I shot some photos for my blog, went to the High Museum to check out the Making Africa exhibit and then went to Houston’s for lunch. The last two events were what made me feel grown. Only real adults go to an art museum, right? And then Houston’s too? Chile you couldn’t tell me nothing today.

When my best friend suggested we go to Houston’s after the museum, I was a little hesitant at first. I thought, “Do I want to spend that much on lunch?” Not too long ago, Houston’s was a special occasion type thing– birthdays, graduation, my parents are in town and want to take us to dinner, you know. But now that I can afford to go on my own, why does still have to be a special occasion type thing? It doesn’t, so we went. As I looked around, it looked like the people there were just casually there for lunch like we were.

I said all that to say, don’t wait to experience something good that you can experience now. If I had been stuck in my old ways, I would have missed out on the blessing that is Houston’s Hawaiian ribeye and loaded baked potato. Best believe Houston’s will be seeing me a bit more often.
